When people think of a dancer, they often think of words like strength or flexibility. Sure, these adjectives describe the world of dance, and many of the talented athletes who have devoted their lives to the craft. But when I meet a senior like Izzie, the word that comes to mind is grit. While dance may look easy, it’s deceptive. It takes a true depth of character to become as strong as this young lady, and that strength is both physical and mental. Getting to photograph her monumental senior year was a delight, and a privilege. This beautiful girl is hard-working and determined, and she has a contagious, goofy personality that is a joy to be around. She was part of my senior rep team, so I was blessed to see her several times during her senior year, and I am thrilled to share her images with you!
Izzie is fun and friendly, and it’s no surprise that she’s beloved in her circle of family members and friends. A natural leader, she is ambitious yet humble, and one of the hardest workers I know. When we first began planning her session, she knew two things: she wanted to include her cute-as-a-button Mini Cooper (cars are a big part of her family’s life), and she wanted to include one of her favorite spots on the beach. Here in New Jersey, the beach holds so much significance for my seniors, because it’s where so many of their family and childhood memories happen. Of course, we wanted to get those images at just the right time; when the sunlight was just perfect. Because she is someone who has never shied away from hard work, I should have known that she would come prepared and ready for our time together. I also have to give some well-earned credit to her sweet mom, who went above and beyond to make sure her daughter had a beautiful day. I adore their family, and the way they invest into the lives of their children! Great preparation makes every session run smoothly, and keeps us focused and present…it always reflects well in the images.
I absolutely love that this girl is a talented member of her dance troupe, Chez Dance Company. She works incredibly hard at her craft, and I really mulled over how to best capture her beautiful lines and stunning poses. In the end, oceanside images were just right for the elegant feel and style she was hoping for. “My favorite part of the session was definitely all of the laughs”, Izzie shared, “and making memories I will have forever!” This stunning senior was so easy to work with, and as we changed outfits or poses, she had the best attitude and made my job a breeze. When it comes to future plans, she shared her hope to become a sports broadcaster, and a journalist. Right now, she is focused in her academics, and working hard to gain the skillsets required for such a rigorous career. I feel confident she’ll be successful!
Izzie, you embody the very best aspects of this year’s graduating class; an incredible work ethic, bright plans for your future, and a kind heart that will bring good things to this world.
